Matters of Heart: September 2019

A HUGE shout out to the Williams family and the LDSF community for meeting our cardiovascular research fundraising goal!

You may remember back in the summer when we promoted a matching Cardiovascular Research Fund donation drive during LDS Awareness month... The Loeys-Dietz Syndrome Foundation is SO grateful to the Willams family for matching the $100,000 that came in from all of our dedicated supporters!

With their generosity, the $100,000 will now become $200,000. All proceeds go towards cardiovascular research! We look forward to seeing how much we can learn and progress in this area, and we are so excited for the impact this will make in the LDS community!

Francoise, Greg and Isabella, you are TRULY helping inspire hope for tomorrow!

Fundraising Thanks!

Thanks so much to Gloria Wilson, proprieter of Loveland Sweets in Loveland, Ohio (near Cincinnati). She is the wonderful aunt of Connor who is impacted by LDS. For the past seven years, they have had a donation jar out to benefit LDSF, and each year have collected between $500-$1,000. What a SWEET partnership!

"My name is Melanie, I'm 21 years old, and I was diagnosed with LDS back in 2012. That same year, I had open heart surgery to replace my enlarged aorta. I'm now attending nursing school, and I graduate in December! I'm looking forward to giving back to my patients just as my nurses have done for me."

Thanks for sharing, Melanie!
