Dr. Sponseller is the Chief of Pediatric Orthopedics and Professor in Orthopedic Surgery at Johns Hopkins. Heearned his medical degree from the University of Michigan, and he completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin. At Harvard, Dr. Sponseller completed orthopedics and pediatric spine fellowships. More recently, he earned both a Master of Science degree in Business of Medicine and a Master of Business Administration at the Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Sponseller's research interests are in pediatric spinal deformities, Marfan syndrome, Loeys Dietz and related connective tissue disorders, and exstrophy. His areas of special interest are in scoliosis and other spine deformities as well as trauma. His research interests include scoliosis etiology and treatment, pediatric skeletal trauma, genetic diseases, and bladder exstrophy.
