Multidisciplinary Clinics, cont.

The Swindle FamilyKids: The LDSF Canada has been working with the Shriner's Hospital in Montreal to create a multidiciplinary clinic for LDS and other connective tissue patients. As of press time, the clinic has held 4 clinic days. The clinic "quarterback" is the ever smiling Nurse Judy Costello!

The clinic director is Dr. Mouna Ben Amor (genetics) and the core team members include: Dr. Jean Ouellet (orthopaedics), Dr. Francis Glorieux (genetics), Dr. Tiscar Cavallé-Garrido (cardiology) and Dr. Robert Koenekoop (ophthamology genetics). Special thanks to the team at the Shriners as well as the other members of the expanded multidisciplinary team.

The Swindle FamilyAdults: The LDSF Canada has been working with the Montreal Heart Institute (MHI) on establishing an adult multidisciplinary clinic for patients with aortic issues and LDS and connective tissue issues. The MHI will act as the clinic host with medical professionals from a number of other Montreal area hospitals. A special thanks to the clinic champions: Dr. Ismail El-Hamamsy, Dr. Nancy Poirier and Dr. François-Pierre Mongeon. The first clinic day is scheduled for May.
